Ballina Arts Centre presents an evening with Don Baker on Friday November 15 at 8pm. Irish singer, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player Don Baker is marking 40 years as a professional musician with a new album My Songs, My Friends, featuring a star-studded line-up of guests. The man affectionately known as The Don became a professional musician in 1973, having initially been inspired to take music seriously while in prison.
His expressive skills on the harmonica have drawn accolades from artists as varied as Bono and Christy Moore. At the close of the upbeat ‘Little Rock’n’Roll Band’ Finbar Furey sings, “Come on, Don, write me one more song.” That sentiment superbly encapsulates the esteem in which Baker is held in by fans and musicians alike. This promises to be a special show so book early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets cost €15 or €12 with a concession, booking is advisable, call 096 73593 or check out www.ballinaartscentre.com for more information.
