A man was before Ballina District Court on Tuesday after he was charged in relation to the theft of €10,500 worth of jewellery from Sarah Jane Jewellers, Ballinrobe. The jewellers had been robbed at lunch time on Monday.
James O’Connor, 33 Hessa Road, Hayes, Middlesex, London, was arrested at 2.50pm at Glendale, Mayfield, Claremorris, on Monday October 21. At 12.22am on October 22 he was charged in relation to the theft.
Judge Mary Devins remanded O’Connor in custody by consent to Harristown District Court sitting today (Friday 25 ) for DPP directions, noting the possibility of further charges.
