Westport radio applying for broadcasting licence

Westport community radio WRFM 98.2 is in the process of the station’s third FM broadcast licence application to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. Unfortunately, part of the application process requires the station to cease FM transmission on its 98.2 wavelength. This will commence on Sunday October 20. In total the station will only be off FM for two full weekends. WRFM would like to point out that this will not involve the station’s broadcasting on the internet, where it is business as usual.

WRFM has grown from strength to strength since being granted its first licence and expects this application to go through smoothly and is looking forward to returning to FM on November 9 when it will start to phase in a very busy and interesting winter schedule.
