Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring has been contacted by a number of Crossmolina residents in relation to the problem of erosion on the River Deel.
“I have been in touch with Minister Brian Hayes and with engineers in the OPW in relation to this matter. They have confirmed to me that ‘in relation to erosion problem on the River Deel, the engineer for that area has clarified that this issue will be addressed when the scheme works are underway’. Confirmation on the scheme works going ahead is expected in the coming weeks.”
He concluded that he hopes this “work can be started before the end of the year”.
