Taoiseach Enda Kenny has welcomed the decision to approve funding of €195,115 for Parke Community Hall under the LEADER element of the Rural Development Programme. The funding will allow for an extension to the existing community facility to include a funeral parlour, a multi-functional meeting room, a space for a permanent stage, and dressing rooms. Overall, the project will cost in excess of €260,000 and represents a massive boost to the local area, along with supporting jobs in the construction process.
Taoiseach Kenny said: “The sanction for funding will be confirmed shortly by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan, following a successful application by the committee of Parke Community Hall. Their ongoing hard work has made a vital difference to the local Parke area, as well as its surrounding areas and they are to be commended for their efforts.”
