Three Mayo stores were rewarded for excellence in retail standards at the 2013 Gala Annual Conference and BEST Awards, which took place at The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Co Laois.
The ultimate honour of the gold standard award was presented to Mc Gloin’s Gala in Foxford, Tuffy’s Gala in Ballina, and Durkan’s Gala in Louisburgh. The gold accolades were awarded following a comprehensive and independent assessment process under the Gala Business Excellence Standards Tool programme.
Mc Gloin’s Gala in Foxford received further acknowledgement on the night and was presented with the Special Category Innovation Award.
Speaking at the conference, Gala CEO, Gary Desmond, said: “I would like to congratulate our three Mayo winners. It’s an outstanding achievement for Mayo to win three gold standard awards. All of our Mayo winners are exemplary stores where retail standards and customer service ethos are second-to-none.” All stores demonstrate the on-going commitment to excellence that all Gala stores strive towards.”
