A Mayo based salon has been selected as a finalist in the 11th Annual Schwarzkopf Professional Irish Hairdressing Business Awards which will take place in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on Monday October 21.
Allure Hairdressing has been nominated in four categories, covering the salon’s two premises in Ballina and Castlebar. The Ballina salon has been nominated for Connacht Salon of the Year and Connacht Trainee of the Year, while the Castlebar salon has also been nominated for Connacht Salon of the Year as well as Salon Design Award.
This is the first time that owners James Baird and Martha Galvin have been nominated in the Schwarzkopf Awards. According to James Baird, his team are looking forward to the event: “We are ecstatic to be nominated in so many categories in the Schwarzkopf Irish Hairdressing Business Awards. It is a prestigious event and we are honoured to attend this year. To have both of our salons nominated for the best salon in the province is just fantastic - a huge honour.”
Emma Loughney from Lacken, Ballina, has been nominated in the category of Connacht Trainee of the Year and has worked in the Ballina based salon for two years: “I can’t believe I have been selected as a nominee for Trainee of the Year. I am so delighted and honoured to attend the awards. I love working at Allure Hairdressing and have learned so much in my two years there. I’d love to win the award next week and bring it back to the team here in Mayo.”
The awards, which this year will celebrate their 11th anniversary, recognise exceptional business acumen and the most talented and committed salons in the Irish hairdressing industry.
