A new map of Moorehall for orienteering has been funded by Mayo Sports Partnership. The map came about as a result of a joint partnership between the Connaught Schools Orienteering Association and Mayo Sports Partnership and forms part of a national initiative by the Junior Cycle Physical Education (JCPE ) Support Service to promote physical activity links between schools and their communites.
The map was developed primarily for schools, though it will be available to other groups and organisations. This is the first in a series of maps that will be produced around Mayo to facilitate both post-primary and primary schools in the implementation adventure activities modules which are part of the JCPE programme and the primary school PE programme respectively.
The map is a 1:5000 scale colour map with standard orienteering symbols and legend. The map will be available as a PDF download from http://connachtschools.com or on the Sports Partnerships website www.mayosports.ie/Publications/
