Castlebar Chamber of Commerce will host its second Business After Hours networking event in Breaffy House Resort on Thursday, October 10 at 6.30pm.
This follows the very enjoyable inaugural Business After Hours event which was hosted by Snap Print.
This free networking event and evening of short seminars will comprise presentations by Hughes Blake Chartered Accountants who are working with Chambers Ireland by helping SMEs, entrepreneurs, family businesses and individuals successfully navigate the new post-recession business landscape. Latest economic indicators show that discretionary consumer spending has begun to increase again following five years of reduction. This event is aimed at helping local businesses to position themselves to take advantage of any upturn in economic activity in the county.
Neil Hughes, Managing Partner and regular media contributor with discuss where we are in the economic cycle, how Mayo is faring, restructuring your business to deal with legacy debts and tips and traps for businesses emerging from a recession.
Finian Loftus, Director Corporate Recovery, will discuss the positive role revenue can play. He will look at Revenue’s engagement with the Personal Insolvency Act, support for individuals and write off of Revenue debt in certain cases, and support for insolvent companies with a reasonable prospect of survival.
Conor Sweeney, Head of Company Secretarial and President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators will investigate the ten commandments of running a business. He will focus on the essential obligations for directors in company law and why they are important, and avoiding company law breaches which may result in restriction or disqualification.
Brian Nevin, Head of Personal Insolvency will discuss the issues surrounding resolving personal debt including direct bank negotiations and new insolvency options.
The event is free of charge and Chamber members are invited to bring a guest business along. If you are not a member of Castlebar Chamber but would like to attend this event please come along on the night.
