Rónán Ó’Snodaigh is heading to Ballina Arts Centre

Do not miss the multi-talented Rónán Ó Snodaigh at Ballina Arts Centre on Friday October 4; he is one of Ireland’s best and most innovative bodhrán players and a highly original singer songwriter, poet, and lead vocalist in one of Ireland’s most celebrated world music bands, Kila.

Fans of Rónán will know he has been creating a stir as a singer songwriter in both English and Irish, his songs are lyrically beautiful with an edginess to their sound that is unique. Somewhere between folk and rock, there is an organic charm to his music.

Rónán’s most recent solo recording The Last Mile Home, was released to much critical acclaim in Ireland. Ever the creator and driven by his search for new sounds, the Last Mile Home sees him take another turn in his music, resulting in a more bluesy folk sound.

Late 2013 sees the release of Rónán's latest album SOS (meaning rest/break in Irish ), this sees Rónán take another musical direction. Teaming up with Californian Pete Routolo producing and on guitar, and bringing on board Crowded House bass player Nick Seymour, and Liam Ó Maonlai on keys, Snodaigh brings song in Irish language firmly up to date.
