Cheerios Childline Breakfast Together Week takes place from October 7 to 13. Over the past six years this event has become one of the biggest fundraisers for Childline with last year’s event raising more than €225,000 for the Childline service which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. Breakfasts big and small will take place around the country and Childline is encouraging everyone to host or attend a breakfast.
“Childline is the only 24 hour listening support service for children and young people in Ireland,” said Ashley Balbirnie, CEO of ISPCC. In 2012, 17,222 calls were answered by Childline in its Castlebar office. But 715 calls a day still go unanswered so every cent raised from Cheerios Childline Breakfast Together week will go towards helping to answer these calls.
To be part of Ireland’s biggest breakfast event log on to www.childlinebreakfast.ie A registration pack comprising posters, money box, and information on the event will be sent out to those wishing to host a breakfast, with Cheerios portion packs being delivered to each and every breakfast.
