Two Mayo businesses win at IFCR awards

Casey’s Quickstop Castlebar and Kilkelly Service Station have scooped awards at Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards (IFCR ) 2013 last week.

Casey’s won the Best Site with a Licence to sell Alcohol award and Kilkelly Service Station won the Forecourt and Convenience Store of the Year (Cat 1 with c-store up to 1,100 sq ft ).

The country’s only specialist awards ceremony for the forecourt retailing industry and backed by Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer magazine, the IFCR Awards were attended by more than 250 industry professionals on September 13 who saw Ireland’s leading retailers vying for prestigious industry accolades.

Speaking after winning the award, Chris McVeigh from the Casey Group said: “On behalf of Casey’s in Castlebar, the store manager Aiden would like to thank all his staff for the effort they have put in to winning this award.”

Gary Higgins, Kilkelly Service Station said: “It is unbelievable to have won this award, it’s superb - I’m overwhelmed! After being open just nine months, the store is a credit to the staff. Fair play to them!”
