A passenger in a car who was searched and found with €15 worth of cannabis in his possession was convicted and fined at this week’s sitting of Castlebar District Court.
On February 15 2013 at 7.05pm the car which James Kilbane, 63 Leicnin Village, Turlough, was travelling in was stopped by Garda John Melia. The garda noticed that Kilbane seemed under the influence and he was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
In a tin foil wrap cannabis was found on Kilbane and he admitted that it was for his own use.
Kilbane was convicted and fined €100 by Judge Mary Devins.
