The people of Westport are playing their part in the Dulux Let’s Colour Project 2013 by helping out in their local communities. Now in its third year, Dulux Let’s Colour Project appealed to Irish communities to take up their paintbrushes to make a positive impact in their community by entering the Let’s Colour Project 2013.
Barbara Tiernan of Killeen National School said: “Our school is located beside the Atlantic Ocean and with the mountains towering over the school, the school is well weathered. Our parent body and staff have kindly offered to do the painting and with Dulux providing the paint, it can all happen. We’ll be using bright colours to enhance the visual aspect of the school and make it an attractive feature of the community. We expect the new vivid and exciting colours to boost the spirits of our students.”
Mary McNicholas of Albany Paints Westport said: “We are just delighted to see so much community spirit and to see so many of our customers get involved in this fantastic project. The Let’s Colour Project is just the kind of initiative the country needs at the moment. We are looking forward to see the finished projects and impact locally.”
The Dulux Let’s Colour Projects has seen a total of 400 local community projects helped including scout halls, children’s homes, hospitals, community and youth centres.
Brian Keehan of Dulux Paints commented: “Westport and Mayo people in general have very much played their part by entering projects in need of transformation-soft ball clubs; projects for the disadvantaged to the elderly- projects came in from right across the spectrum. Albany Westport has been brilliant facilitating us to get the paint out to local projects – so thank you!”
