Castlebar town councillor Harry Barrett has welcomed the progress being made on the newly developed town park, located at Springfield, Castlebar. Work on the site has moved on at a rapid pace over the last few weeks, with the completion of the central path allowing a full view of the new amenities on offer.
Cllr Barrett said: “I warmly welcome the progress being made on the new town park. The central path looks fantastic, as does the new children’s playground and MUGA pitch. Full credit must be given to the outdoor staff, and engineering staff of Castlebar Town Council, who have done sterling work on this site over the last few weeks.
“I have had many calls over the last few months asking for updates and progress reports on the site, and I am delighted to report that rapid progress is being made to complete the park before the end of the year.
“I remember driving my children to Newport to access a playground, and indeed it was one of the reasons I entered politics; to demand and deliver more amenities for children. I am thrilled to see this new facility near completion, as it will be a great boost to what we can offer our children in this town.”
