The Western Region Drugs Task Force in conjunction with An Garda Síochána has launched a campaign encouraging people to stay safe on party nights out.
The campaign’s message is “Don’t let a good night out turn into a morning full of regret.” The idea is to inform people of the dangers involved in excessive alcohol consumption and/or drug use.
The campaign looks at the top tips to stay safe at night. These include being aware that both men and women’s drinks are at risk of being spiked. Watch your drink being poured and keep your friends with you. If a drink tastes unusual or smells odd do not drink it. Do not accept a drink from someone you do not know and trust, and do not share or swap drinks.
