Ring welcomes funding for Croagh Patrick Holiday Hostel

Minister of State Michael Ring has welcomed the announcement from Minister for Environment, Phil Hogan that he has given approval for South West Mayo Development Company Limited, to approve funding of €200,000 to Croagh Patrick Holiday Village for the construction and development of a Croagh Patrick Holiday Hostel, in Murrisk. Funding will be provided under the Encouragement of Tourism Activities measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

Minister Ring stated: “Minister Hogan contacted me regarding this funding. I wish to welcome the announcement which is very good news for the Croagh Patrick Holiday Village, the community and for the surrounding areas.”

Minister Phil Hogan stated: “This is a significant investment by and it is expected that six new part-time jobs will initially be created in the Holiday Hostel. I am confident that this new venture will make a valuable contribution to the rural economy of south west Mayo, attracting additional visitors and bringing in more money to the region.”
