Ladies, have you ever day-dreamed of wearing your wedding dress again?
Well, now you can, and it’s all in the name of a good cause. Special Olympics Ireland has teamed up with Tan Organic and Galway Shopping Centre to bring the ever popular “Bridal Race” back to Ballybrit Racecourse. The fun-filled event takes place on the first day of the summer racing festival on Monday, July 29.
Brides of all ages are wanted strut one furlong. It’s just 200 metres and very manageable in that special dress. And the good news is marriage certificates are not necessary. So, even if you haven’t been up the aisle, you can join in the fun. The only requirement on the day is a bridal-type gown.
To get involved in this fun event, entrants are required to raise €175 in sponsorship for Special Olympics Connaught. Places are limited so register early to avoid disappointment. Prizes will be awarded for the most stylish bride on the big day as well as a prize for the first bride past the post. Additionally, a prize will be presented to the best fundraiser.
All participating ladies receive on the day, admission to the races, champagne reception as well as a four course meal, a racecard, a racing tipster, a reserved table in the Killanin Stand, and complimentary parking.
