Mayo Mountain Rescue last week launched its Run 4 Rescue fundraiser which this year takes place on Sunday, September 8. This annual event has gone from strength to strength thanks to running’s increased popularity in recent years. This year Run 4 Rescue will incorporate two running events including a half marathon and a 10k run.
The half marathon will take its traditional route from the Roonagh Road outside Louisburgh to the finish line at Westport Quay. Ten kilometre competitors will take on part of this route from the Bertra Beach Road to Westport Quay. The new addition of a 10k run will make Run 4 Rescue more accessible to runners of all abilities.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the upkeep of the voluntary efforts of Mayo Mountain Rescue Team. To sign up go to www.run4rescue.ie or for further information contact [email protected] or Mary on 086 837 1669. You can also enter on runireland.ie
