Adult education and training focused on nurturing, healing and growth

Castlebar Counselling and Therapy Centre is continuing its well-established training and education programme with its part-time Foundation Course in Counselling and its Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy. It also provides courses for those who are already qualified in these fields.

The centre is now accepting applications for its one-year part-time Foundation Skills Course in Counselling/Psychotherapy. This course, which has been completed already by one hundred and forty three students, provides training in Relationship Skills, on the one hand and an opportunity for participants to nurture their own special talents for helping those in need, on the other.

The Foundation Course which is held at the centre on one evening each week for 21 evenings, offers a chance for adults engaged in helping professions such as teachers, nurses, social workers and carers to enhance their way of being with people so that their contacts are more fruitful for healing and growth.

It is particularly useful for those working in various parish and pastoral situations or in other voluntary organisations where they meet people who are struggling with the daily problems of life in their families, work places and with the terrible austerity situations so prevalent at present. Parents have also found the course very helpful in the sometimes difficult family relationships.

No previous qualifications are necessary for this particular course which is advertised elsewhere in this edition.

Places are limited. Application forms and brochures are available from the centre at 094 902 8746.
