Opel poised to unveil new Insignia

Opel is poised to unveil its new Insignia at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, followed by an Irish debut later this year.

Opel says its flagship model shines with even more attractive interior and exterior styling, taking the award-winning design philosophy “sculptural artistry meets German precision” to the next level.

New powerful and ultra-efficient direct injection engines such as the 2.0CDT1 99g/km turbo diesel and the new-generation turbo petrol unit expand the wide portfolio. A host of chassis enhancements ensures higher comfort, while a new infotainment system will integrate many smartphone functions into the car and can be operated intuitively and via a touchpad in the centre console.

“The successful Insignia has already won over more than 8,000 Opel drivers in Ireland since it launched in 2009,” Opel Ireland’s managing director Dave Sheeran told the Advertiser. “ The new Insignia will thrill even more – with a high-quality and sleek cockpit, intuitive operation of infotainment systems, exemplary powertrains, and even more expressive design than before.

“Our flagship model is now even more sophisticated and eye-catching – but amid all this elegance, we have not forgotten what it’s all about: to offer drivers and passengers a comfortable and safe driving experience with state-of-the-art technologies at an attractive price.”

The new Opel Insignia also offers a host of technology, safety and comfort highlights. State-of-the-art radar and camera-based assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, side blind zone alert, forward collision alert, second-generation park assist, premium seats with the AGR seal of approval, and the keyless entry and start system Open & Start.

The recently launched Opel Mokka (from €19,995 ) and ADAM (from €14,995 ) are still available with five year warranty as standard.

Opel says it is the only German car manufacturer to support its range with a five year/100,000km warranty, highlighting the conviction Opel has in its award-winning German engineering, and giving its customers peace of mind motoring with their new Opels.
