A man who did not have a driving licence was convicted and fined at Ballina District Court this week.
Garda Noel Crinnegan stopped Daryl Devers, 56 St Patrick’s Estate, Ballina, driving on January 11 2013 at 10.49pm
Devers was asked to produce his insurance and driving licence. He produced a provisional driving licence. None of the other three passengers in the car had a full driving licence; therefore he was driving unaccompanied.
Solicitor for the defendant, Marc Loftus, said that his client, who is on the dole, is saving up for the required 10 driving lessons needed before he can sit the driving test.
Judge Denis McLoughlin convicted and fined him €100.
