The Marie Keating Foundation mobile information unit and nurse will be visiting Westport, at the Westpoint Shopping Centre, on Thursday July 11 from 10.30am to 4pm.
The Marie Keating Foundation aims to increase the public’s knowledge and encourage a change in their behaviour to reduce their risk of cancer and help them spot changes early that could be cancer. They also look at the early signs to watch for and encourage people to know their body, what is normal for them, and check for change.
All men and women, young and old, can drop in to the unit and talk to the registered nurse in confidence. The service is free of charge. The service has awareness tools and there are also information leaflets which may be taken home on all the key cancers.
