Finbar Hoban Presents celebrates it’s fifth anniversary with live music at the Heart of Castlebar Festival

Finbar Hoban Presents...will be bringing be celebrating his fifth anniversary by having live music on streets of Castlebar next Saturday night July 6 as part of the Heart of Castlebar Festival. With lots of festivities taking place over the weekend it looks like Castlebar is the only place to be next weekend. Live music on the streets will be provided by the excellent and very popular What The Funk band fronted by one of the best showmen in the country right now, Mick Sheridan. What the Funk has gained a huge reputation around Mayo and beyond over the past number of years.

Sheridan is backed by the young and talented Eamonn O'Sullivan on sax and vocals, the dynamic Davey Ward on bass, the solid’n’smooth, Keith Fadden on guitar, and Joey "Sticks" Halloran on drums. Also on the night expect to see the brilliant Social Welfare. Formed in 2010 after playing in a number of other bands around the place, members met up for a jam and things have gone from there. They are currently recording their first album, called I’m Gone. Also performing on the night is the wonderful Katie Cassidy. Katie started playing live plugged acoustic gigs in pubs and clubs full time at the age of 17, and she has gone from strength to strength since then.

But there is even more good music to look forward to with The Reserve also taking to the stage. They have just recently released their new single “Come home for the Gathering”, with all the money raised going to cancer research.

It promises to be a great weekend around Castlebar. Make sure to make your way to Castlebar next weekend for some great live entertainment. The live music kicks off from 7pm. Remember to get down early and this promises to be a packed show for all. For more info go to www.finbarhobanpresents.com
