That’s right, after a long and hard battle Northern Ireland Rocker's Therapy? will finally make their debut in Castlebar this October. After an online petition which consisted of fans setting up a Facebook page titled "Lets Get Therapy? to play live in Castlebar" the legendary band will now play The Ruby Room at the TF Royal Theatre in Castlebar on the Halloween Bank holiday weekend. Therapy? have played with some of the greatest bands in the world that include Metallica, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam.
The band formed in 1989 and since then they have gone to record 13 studio albums including two greatest hits records. They have also recorded what is considered to be two of the greatest Irish rock albums of all time Nurse and Troublegum.
The band was formed in 1989 by guitarist–vocalist Andy Cairns from Ballyclare and drummer-vocalist Fyfe Ewing from Larne. The band initially recorded their first demo with Cairns filling in on bass guitar. To complete the line-up, the band recruited Larne bassist Michael McKeegan.
They decided on the name Therapy? because they thought it was short and easy to remember. In 1994 the band released the “Nowhere” single which picked up lots of radio play and went top 20 in the UK. On the back of it the band release the album Troublegum which went top five in the UK and also charted high in various other countries. The album not only contains “Screamager”, “Turn” and “Nowhere” but also future singles “Die Laughing” and “Trigger”.
