Castlebar Gospel Choir to perform for two nights
Perennial favourites, Castlebar Gospel Choir will be making a spirited return to the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, for two stirring and lively performances on Wednesday June 12 and Thursday June 13 at 8pm.
The two evening performances promise to have toes tapping and hands clapping with the choir’s lively and eclectic repertoire. To further infuse the evenings’ entertainment, the choir will be joined by talented band The Sophisticats to add an extra musical dimension to everyone’s enjoyment.

An exhibition by John Behan will open on June 2 at 3pm in the Western Light Art Gallery, Keel, Achill Island.
The exhibition—Of Land, Sea and People—will include many of John’S themes in his work today which include Irish mythology, music, the sea, the Irish Famine and the Irish/Jewish relationship explored through James Joyce’s Ulysses. The work in the exhibition will display equal numbers of sculptures and wall hangings
The guest speaker will be Achill Island born poet and writer John F Deane.
Custom House Studios
TILT, an exhibition by Marie Hanlon will be held in Custom House Studios Gallery, Westport from May 16 to June 9.
This exhibition of paintings and drawings by Marie Hanlon deals with spatial relationships, flat surface, and the illusion of depth.
Marie Hanlon was born in Kilkenny, she studied history of European painting and English at University College, Dublin. She now lives in Dublin and is represented by The Rubicon Gallery.
The Legend of Gráinne Mhaol
The hugely popular Mayo traditional music summer show The Legend of Gráinne Mhaol is heading for the west coast again this summer with its sail at full mast for its fifth successive season at Hotel Westport.
The show is a celebration of Irish music, song, and dance is an inspiring epic, reliving the journey of the Irish legend Gráinne Mhaol throughout history.
