Eight leading Connacht businesses will compete for awards at the national final of the 2012 / 2013 Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards, which take place in The Mansion House in Dublin on May 30. The eight companies are Ireland West Airport Knock, P&G Cards, Mixgreens, Channel Mechanics, SF Engineering, The Foods of Athenry, Lifes2Good, and GH Agri.
Ireland West Airport Knock is competing in the Social Enterprise category. Ireland West Airport Knock is held in trust for the people of the west of Ireland. From humble beginnings 27 years ago, the airport is now the fastest growing airport in Ireland, employing more than 145 staff from the region. Contributing some €100m to the regional economy, the company is now serving 25 international destinations and almost 700,000 passengers annually. 2012 was Knock Airport’s busiest year since it opened 27 years ago.
