In Mayo in 2012, local businesses donated a total of €1,093,638 in cash and in kind donations to local charities and community groups. Some 990 hours were volunteered by local employees and some 185 community partnerships were supported by 19 companies.
This information is being captured by Business in the Community Ireland on an online interactive map entitled the Business Impact Map. These 19 Mayo based companies are among 46 socially minded large Irish companies to take part in the map.
Companies that featured on the map for Mayo included; Abbott Ireland, AIB Group, Bank of Ireland, Boots Retail (Irl ) Ltd, BT Ireland, Coca-Cola Ireland, Coillte, Diageo Ireland, ESB Electric Aid, IBM Ireland, Intel, Microsoft Ireland, MSD, O2 Ireland, Shell E&P Ireland Ltd, Shell Mayo, Topaz, Ulster Bank and Veolia Environnement.
