Clean sweep for Ford in Irish Van of the Year awards

Ford dominated this year’s Continental Irish Van of the Year awards with a clean sweep of all three titles on offer.

Last November, the new Ford Transit Custom was voted Continental Irish Van of the Year 2013 by the Irish Motoring Writers Association. It came out on top from eight contenders for the prestigious annual award, finishing ahead of the new Citroen Berlingo Airstream in second place and the new Peugeot Partner in third.

Last week the Fiesta van and Ranger pick-up completed the clean sweep for Ford with both having been subsequently named categorywinners of the Continental Irish Van of the Year 2013 title.

All nine voting members of the IMWA van jury took part in the vote, taking into account such attributes as load capacity, reliability, overall versatility, cost of ownership and drive comfort.

Presenting the awards John Morgan, Continental Tyres Ireland business development manager, commented: “Congratulations to Ford on scooping both category awards. In today’s tough commercial vehicle market, I am sure the endorsement of the Irish Motoring Writers’ Association and these Continental Irish Van of the Year Category Awards will be a huge boost for both the Fiesta van and Ranger.”
