The Upledger Institute Ireland in association with Westport’s own craniosacral therapists, Joanna Moran and Bridie Mangan, is presenting a one day introduction to craniosacral therapy (CST ) workshop. Here is your opportunity to sample Upledger craniosacral therapy and talk with the local therapists and workshop instructor Paul O’Malley, who has 10 years’ experience.
This one day programme is a mix of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice. The workshop is designed to teach the benefits of CST along with techniques you can safely use on family and friends and for your own health.
The workshop is open to anybody who is interested in CST, for those who just want to know more about this wonderful holistic approach to healthcare and would like to meet the local therapists, experience and learn some CST techniques, and may be considering professional training to become a therapist.
CST is a gentle, hands-on method, of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system – comprising the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than five grams, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
It is a gentle technique that can be used for newborn babies, children, and adults of all ages, to establish nervous system regulation and balance.
The workshop will be held in The Atlantic Coast Hotel, Westport Quay, tomorrow May 25 from 9am to 2.30pm. Cost will be €50, including light refreshments.
Booking is essential, contact either Joanna Moran 087 246 259 or Bridie Mangan 087 254 4666.
