A series of memorial walks is due to take place across Mayo and Roscommon on Sunday July 14 in memory of friends and loved ones who are no longer with us. The event is being organised by Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Kavanagh’s SuperValu as part of the ongoing Help us to Help Others Campaign.
The Mayo locations confirmed for the walks are Westport, Castlebar, Claremorris, and Kiltimagh, with walks also taking place Roscommon town and Ballaghaderreen. Each walk will consist of a 5km or 10km route option and there will be a short memorial service before the walk commences.
All funds raised from the walks will go directly to Mayo Roscommon Hospice specialist palliative care service.
Each person who registers for the event will receive a special memorial walk T-shirt. Those who register before June 28 will have the option to personalise their T-shirt with the name of the person of whom they are walking in memory. Registration costs €20 and can be raised by taking a sponsorship card.
