Moy Sports Forum recently held a Women’s Health Evening in Ballina. The event targeting women of all ages and was held at the Primary Care Centre, Kevin Barry Street, at Mayo Sports Clinic.
The forum was delighted with the attendance of over 170 women all availing of screening on the evening carried out by Ailish Houlihan from Croí; Eithne Garrick, PHN Ballina and Dr Kathleen McSharry. Dr Sean Moffatt was also on hand with advice as well as Liam Moffatt, chartered physiotherapist who offered the women advice on injury and injury prevention including sports injury.
Moy Sports Forum is made up of various agencies including Mayo Sports Partnership, Mayo North East, Mayo Traveller Support Group, INVOLVE, FAI, Sean Duffy Centre, Moy Valley Resource Centre and resident representatives from various estates in the Ballina area. The forum came together in 2011 to encourage more people in the Ballina area to be active and healthy. The women’s health evening follows from the success of a Men’s Health Evening held late last year. The event was supported by Ballina Beverages.
