The Private Residential Tenancy Board (PRTB ) has published the most accurate and authoritative rent report of its kind on the private accommodation sector in Ireland. Compiled by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI ), and based on the PRTB’s own register of more than 277,000 private tenancies throughout the State, it reveals the actual rents being paid for rented properties, as distinct from the asking rent which features in other rent reports published by other parties.
In quarter one of 2013 in Mayo the average monthly rent in the county for a property is €519.10; €537.88 in Ballina; €480.62 in Ballinrobe; €442.53 in Ballyhaunis; €530.27 in Castlebar; €484.72 in Claremorris; €481.75 in Foxford; and €581.07 in Westport.
The index will be updated and published every three months from now on. Coinciding with the new index, the PRTB has overhauled its website, and tenants, landlords, and would-be renters can quickly learn what the actual rents are for various kinds of properties in any part of the country by clicking on www.prtb.ie
