A Mass will be held in St Mary’s Church, Westport on Friday December 12 at 7.30pm in remembrance of family and friends who have been killed or injured on our nation’s roads, or in any tragic circumstances throughout the years, from Westport and surrounding areas.
The Mass will be celebrated by Fr Michael Mannion. The service will include Westport emergency services, Westport gardaí and Mayo County Council safety officer Mr Noel Gibbons. The service will be sponsored by Axa Insurance and Mayo County Council and music will be provided by Westport singer Frank McCaffrey.
All those who wish to attend and have lost a loved one, and who wish to have their loved one remembered, are asked to bring a rose along on the night. There will also be a candlelit reflection during Mass and to end the Mass there will be a release of white balloons outside the church.
