Gardai in Castlebar confirmed to the Mayo Advertiser yesterday that what was initially reported to have been an attempted abduction of a child in the Castlebar area last weekend has been investigated and is not what it was originally feared.
A Garda spokesperson told the Advertiser that gardai “followed up on the initial report and it turned out not to be what was initially reported.”
