Finbar Hoban Presents...And So I Watch You From Afar’s Live at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar this May Bank Holiday weekend. And So I Watch you From Afar released their highly talked about third album titled All Hail Bright Futures last month and will are hitting the road to Castlebar next weekend.
All Hail Bright Futures could be taken as both an ethos for the album and the band. There is a new colour scheme in place: new textures, emotions, sounds and voices. The 12-track, 43 minute, album is dominated by a sunnier disposition, a positive uplift that more closely matches the euphoria the Northern Ireland trio have been instilling in audiences through their music in a live setting for the last five years.
Continuing the unparalleled pace at which they have been touring for over five years now, ASIWYFA have taken their uplifting sound to places other bands could only imagine. Since the release of 2011’s second album Gangs, the band have added China, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus to their already considerably stamped passports. As well as these far-flung, seldom played places, the band have gigged all over North America and Europe, bringing their total show tally close to 500.
Playing support on the night will be The Altered Hours who exist in a swirl of the psychedelic and hypnotic. Their new single “Sweet Jelly Roll” was recorded in autumn 2012 with Fabien Leseure in Berlin, and will be released in March 2013 as a 10” vinyl and for digital download by A Records (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dirty Beaches ).
And So I Watch You From Afar come to play The Ruby Room in the TF Royal Theatre on Sunday May 5. Tickets are now on sale from Downtown Records in Castlebar and cost just €15. For booking information contact (094 )9022312.
