The Muscle Injury Clinic is based in Castlebar and is owned and run by Padraic Costello who is a qualified neuromuscular and physical therapist and a member of ANMPT (Association of Neuromuscular and Physical Therapists ).
For the past 10 years he has been providing this service to clients from all over the west of Ireland.
Neuromuscular therapy (NMT ) is a form of soft tissue manual therapy. NMT is a comprehensive programme of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system.
Common complaints such as back pain, neck and shoulder restrictions, hip and knee injuries, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome can all be effectively treated.
People who have undergone surgery (hip/knee operations, bone fractures, ankle injuries ) will all benefit from these treatments also.
Clients vary from teenagers to the more mature person, however Mr Costello also treats sports related injuries and has worked with a wide variety of high profile athletes and teams over the past 10 years.
