A 21-year-old was convicted and fined at Ballina District Court on Tuesday for the possession of cannabis.
On November 30 2012 at 5.37pm gardaí smelled cannabis near a number of people who had gathered at the river in Foxford.
Patrick Maughan, 2 Carramore, Knock, was searched and cannabis was found in two small plastic bags. The value of cannabis found was €59.60.
The man, who has no previous drug related convictions, did not co-operate with gardaí as to where he got the drugs.
Judge Devins convicted and fined him €100.
