The brain tumour support group in the western region is in existence since November 2006. It supports all those diagnosed with a brain tumour, their families and friends. The group meets once a month on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the Cancer Care West Centre, Seamus Quirke Road, Galway.
The regular group meetings enable those diagnosed with a brain tumour and those affected by the diagnosis to share their experiences, joys and fears of various treatments and day to day living. The group also enables family and friends to talk with others about changes in family roles or financial concerns.
The group provides ongoing support and outreach through phone contact and home visits, when required, throughout all counties in the western region for those unable to attend meetings due to debilitating illness or long travel distances from Galway.
It is a registered charity and is totally dependent on fundraising and donations for their ongoing administration and outreach. For further information contact Anne Buckley on 087 783 4826.
