Finbar Hoban Presents...And So I Watch You From Afar live at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar this May Bank Holiday weekend. And So I Watch you From Afar released their highly talked about third album on March 15 titled All Hail Bright Futures.
All Hail Bright Futures could be taken as both an ethos for the album and the band. There is a new colour scheme in place: New textures, emotions, sounds and voices. The 12-track, 43 minute, album is dominated by a sunnier disposition, a positive uplift that more closely matches the euphoria the Northern Ireland trio have been instilling in audiences through their music in a live setting for the last five years.
Since the release of 2011’s second album Gangs, the band have added China, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus to their already considerably stamped passports. As well as these far-flung places, the band have gigged all over North America and Europe, bringing their total show tally close to 500.
Playing support on the night will be The Altered Hours. The Altered Hours exist in a swirl of the psychedelic and hypnotic. Their new single ‘Sweet Jelly Roll’ was recorded in autumn 2012 with Fabien Leseure in Berlin, and will be released in March 2013 as a 10” vinyl and for digital download by A Records.
And So I Watch You From Afar will play The Ruby Room at the TF Royal Theatre and Event Centre on Sunday May 5. Tickets are now on sale from Downtown Records in Castlebar and tickets in advance cost just €12. For booking information contact (094 )9022312. For more information go to finbarhobanpresents.com
