Barbara next up for Linenhall Film Club

The next screening at the Linenhall Film Club on Tuesday April 16 at 8pm is Barbara, a simmering, impeccably crafted Cold War drama set in 1980. Continually harassed by a local Stasi official, and plotting an escape to the West and her West German boyfriend, she finds herself growing more attached to a young fellow physician, a gentle loner whose intentions are never quite clear, and she is eventually thrown into a dilemma between the need for freedom and the warmth and gratitude she receives from others. An Oscar-nominated film from writer/director Christian Petzold. Admission is €5 and the Linenhall Film Club screens a film every second Tuesday.
