Second disqualification for Claremorris man

A Claremorris man was disqualified from driving for a second time in 11 years at Castlebar District Court this Tuesday.

Jim Mullaney, Meelickmore, Claremorris was arrested at Lisduff, Claremorris at 5.40pm on May 26 2012 on suspicion of drink driving. He was brought back to Claremorris Garda Station where he gave a blood sample which returned a reading of 271 mlgs of alcohol per 100ml of blood.

The court was told that Mullaney had previous conviction for drink driving in 2002, when he was disqualified from driving for four years and that in 2003 he also had a conviction for driving an animal drawn vehicle while intoxicated for which he was fined €50. Judge Mary Devins, convicted and fined Mullaney €600 and disqualified him from driving for three years.
