Files being prepared for DPP in relation to Westport stabbing

A teenage boy who was stabbed on Saturday night at the Railway Walk, Westport, remains in Mayo General Hospital.

Sixteen-year-old Henry Newham was inflicted with stab wounds during an incident which took place at around 11pm. The teen managed to walk a short distance before he collapsed and was found. He was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to remove his spleen.

Three teenagers, who are not believed to be from Westport, were arrested after the incident and were questioned by gardaí were released without charge. Files are being prepared for the DPP.
