Trek in the Sperrins for Bóthar

The Sperrin Mountains in Co Tyrone are regularly listed as being on of the best walking locations in Ireland. Outstanding natural scenery, well-defined walking routes, and excellent local facilities await the casual walker and keen trekker alike. These attractions and facilities are what have attracted development aid agency, Bóthar, to hold its annual fundraising trek in the region in August 2013.

Up to 60 participants get to enjoy being part of the Bóthar fundraising family by walking, socialising, and making life-long friendships through participating in this three-day event.

Certain levels of fundraising and fitness are required for the event which has the proud boast of having participants return year after year. Three different levels of walks each day for the three days of the event leaves participants of all abilities with a great choice of trekking activities. This is the ideal event for the beginner or for those thinking of stepping up to something more challenging.

So, if you are an experienced walker or if you are thinking of taking it up for the first time, this is the perfect event for you. Most importantly however, you will be assisting Bóthar and the people it serves in a very practical and meaningful way.
