The funeral of 62-year-old Jim Biggs from Lecarrow, Clare Island, will take place today (Friday ).
A fire broke out accidentally in his home, where he resided alone, on the island on Sunday night.
Mr Biggs was formerly from Ringsend, Dublin.
Mass will take place today in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Clare Island, and he will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
