Fianna Fáil area representative, Lisa Chambers, will hold a clinic at the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, tomorrow (Saturday, March 16 ), to deal with personal insolvency issues.
The clinic will be of special benefit to individuals who find themselves in arrears with mortgages and institutional debt, and who are simply no longer able to meet their accrued financial commitments.
Ms Chambers, a qualified barrister, has recently addressed local meetings on the subject of the new Personal Insolvency Bill, and has subsequently dealt with many queries from people on a one-to-one basis.
The clinic from 12 noon to 1pm is free, fully confidential and is open to all.
Ms Chambers explained: “More and more people are finding themselves in debt through no fault of their own, and do not know where to turn for help, or what solutions are open to them. Under the new insolvency legislation, people will be given the opportunity to deal with their debts and make a fresh start with their personal finances.
“I will be more than happy to meet privately with people tomorrow and offer them whatever advice is available to help them get their financial lives back on track.”
