A 40-strong film crew descended on Mayo this week for the filming of a television commercial about road safety, with particular emphasis on cycling safety.
Castlebar Cycling Club were involved in the filming, which is due to air mid-March according to the Road Safety Authority.
Local cycling enthusiasts were seen participating in the filming in Castlebar this week including David Brennan of the Castle Book Shop and a member of Castlebar Cycling Club as well as Ann Garavan, a well-known personality in the town.
The advertisement has brought some welcome business to Mayo with the crew staying in the Harlequin Hotel and eating in local restaurants.
