Claremorris No Name Club hosts Valentine’s masquerade ball

“The best night of our lives,” and “When is the next one, can we go pleeeaase,” were just some of the quotes from the guests who attended the Claremorris No Name Club inaugural Valentine’s Masquerade Ball in The McWilliam Park Hotel on Wednesday, February 13. Four hundred and eighty teenagers and their leaders arrived from No Name Clubs from all over the country in their Sunday best to attend an event that is set to become a headline feature in the national No Name Club calendar of events.

The smartly dressed young people arrived at the hotel to a fruit punch reception and were presented with an array of glittering masquerade masks. They were then led into the spectacularly decorated ballroom for a delicious three course meal.

The after dinner entertainment, a comedy sketch, was performed by the comic geniuses Patrick Burke and Jimmy Coen who had the crowd in stitches. The music was provided by legendary DJ Michael Burke, ably assisted by his famous orange basin. The heaving dance floor was only abandoned to feast on the luxurious chocolate fountain or for some matchmaking to take place. The huge crowd danced and laughed the night away before sadly clambering into their buses for their long journeys home.

Claremorris No Name Club committee wish to thank the club members for their help in organising the evening, decorating the ballroom, and for their impeccable behaviour on the night, the McWilliam Park Hotel for the wonderful venue and the beautiful meal, Michael Burke for providing the music, and the numerous No Name Clubs from around the country for travelling to support the event which was a resounding success.
