Bee Green offers unique non-toxic drycleaning service

Bee Green in Belmullet, Castlebar, Westport and Briarhill, Galway offers a unique drycleaning service. Having your garments cared for by Bee Green ensures that no toxic chemicals are used in cleaning therefore it is better for your health and the environment we all share.

The chemical used in traditional drycleaners is Perc (Perchloroethylene ) and is described in its own safety data sheet as being a carcinogen with which prolonged contact is extremely dangerous. When handling this product you need to be gowned up with a face shield, goggles, protective suit and special gloves. The use of Perc is now banned in 17 states in the USA.

It is recommended that you should not wear a traditionally cleaned garment for 13 days after collection and to store it without its plastic in a very ventilated area. An EPA partnership programme states: “If you work in or live next to a drycleaning facility, you might be exposed to higher levels and may have cause for concern.”

All of the research Bee Green did when deciding to start a drycleaning business led the owners to the same conclusion — there would not be any use of “perc”.

Bee Green says that it is very proud of the service it offers. It can take care of all your dry clean-only garments in a safe and environmentally prudent way.
