Man with ninety nine year driving ban stole car

The court heard the owner had been servicing his car and had left the keys in the ignition. At 10pm gardaí received a report that the car had been crashed at Cahir, Kilkelly. Maughan was located in the area.

The defendant had a lengthy driving disqualification imposed on him at Ballina District Court on January 29 2008. The defendant was given a suspended sentence in Castlebar Circuit Court in 2011, therefore Judge Mary Devins remanded him on continuing bail to Castlebar Circuit Court on May 7 2013 in relation to the suspended sentence.
